A Message from the United Way of Lake County

The work we do at United Way of Lake County is solely for the benefit of the Lake County community and residents. This is why we've established a Lake County Relief Fund. Our goal is to provide relief where needed as we navigate the COVID-19 health crisis. Monetary donations from the fund will be used to alleviate unforeseen needs that are rapidly arising in our county due to the pandemic. We're working with our partner agencies and local non-profits to identify critical needs and resource gaps. Funds are being provided on a rolling basis. Current needs include those for an in-home grocery delivery service program for seniors, food for our food pantries, medical and cleaning supplies, help for our homeless and more. A full 100% of donations raised are being put back into the Lake County community. If you have the means to do contribute, please give online at uwlc.org/give, by texting LCRelief to 44321 or by mailing a check payable to United Way of Lake County to: United Way of Lake County, ATT: Relief Fund, 9285 Progress Pkwy, Mentor, OH 44060

United Way of Lake County First Response - Your Lake County Relief Fund Donation Dollars at Work

Food Pantries:  Lake County food pantries are experiencing an influx of need for food given school closures, layoffs and the need to ensure our high-risk elderly are fed. In response, we held our first emergency food distribution on March 18, 2020. We provided $20,000 in food to 40 local food pantries and are continuing to monitor their needs.

In-Home Grocery Delivery Program for Seniors: We are proudly funding a program to provide relief to Lake County seniors in need of home-delivered groceries.  We've joined forces with Laketran, Lifeline, Council on Aging, RSVP and the Lake County Board of Commissioners, to provide assistance to our most vulnerable population. Households with a senior 60 years of age or older who live in Lake County are eligible to receive one bag of groceries per week. Click here for complete program details. For a promotional flyer about the program, click here.
